IWS, in collaboration with LRI and MET, is delivering a program designed to equip Metis women with the tools they need to find meaningful employment. This 15-week program addresses systemic and institutional barriers to economic security and prosperity faced by Metis mothers, caregivers, and guardians as they attempt to enter, re-enter or remain in the workforce.
IWS endeavours to empower and enrich the lives of this targeted group of participants with carefully selected education programs. Through the development and implementation of individual “pathways to prosperity plans,” Metis women in Manitoba benefit from increased accessibility to relevant programs and services, such as employment training and childcare. A network of stakeholders, employers and Metis women in business, mentor and guide the participants through targeted outreach for job-matching, learning and skill-building sessions.
